This man has my very, very big respect. After his horror crash Alex Zarnardi won the gold medal with handbiking drive. Congratulations!

Great Story!
I think the grooved/rilled tyres in 1999 were nothing for Zanardi.

Very sad seeing him losing his legs in 2001. But even more great it is to see what he succeded after that accident:
2001: Crash during CART race in germany
2003 he completed the missing 13 laps of the 2001 race
2004: ETCC, 1 podium
2005 - 2009: WTCC for BMW, 3 wins, many podiums
from 2009: preparing for the 2012 paralympics
and now he won the gold medal

I read an interview with him, in which he talked about his next wishes: A start at a DTM race. Well, as we know, BMW is starting in the DTM since this season, so maybe we'll see another great comeback from "Alex"
