Been compiling this mod for the last 2 months or so, with the release of the 2018 Tyres it's now in a state where it can be released. Probably still has a couple of bugs, hence v0.8. Report whatever issue you find here in this thread.
Thanks go to all authors listed below for their works!


Important information
  • There are no pitcrews included, since unfortunately I didn't get permission to use them. If you want to add them yourself, you have to put the files to \Data\Anim\Engineer(Pitcrew)\Default. Last time I checked the teamnames in the file names already matched those in the globalvars.ini.
  • No halo in the cockpit view, again no permission actually I didn't ask for it here yet. Had already created textures for Enzojz's 2003 cockpit, so I didn't give it priority since it involves a bit more work. Added as of v0.8.1
  • Perfs only up to Hungary, after that it'll use a generic one. For those races tyres will always be ultrasoft/supersoft/soft. For rounds 1-12 compounds are as in reallife. Added as of v1.0
  • Helmets of Bottas, Perez, Grosjean, Ocon and Stroll are last season's, here too no permission.

Known issues
  • Missing files listed under important information.
  • Game crashes when leaving the game. Opened a thread with the error log already, hope to get some answers there. fixed with v0.8.1
  • Long loading times for second and consecutive times entering a track. Don't know why this happens, also might not happen to everyone. Will keep investigating. fixed with v0.8.1
  • 2018 TV Style; since the 2010 digital style uses parallelogram shapes, which were replaced with square ones, there are overlappings etc. which can't be avoided. I might separate the TV style into an optional updated later.

Custom Team 11
I've added a fictional Manor as custom team 11, which can be disabled via CSM mod configurable. Since it uses RSCT's generic 2018 shape, you can also put your own team instead.

  • Car textures: they have to be placed in \Data\Cars\Team11\Tex\Hi(Std)\Default. The texture names have to be identical to the ones already there
  • Helmet textures: have to be placed in \Data\Helmets\Hi(Std)\Driver21(22)\Default. Here too keep the texture names.
  • Perfs: All team 11 perfs are in \Data\Performance\Team11. Edit them to your liking. For wheel/tread number allocation see one of the perfs in \Performance.
  • Overlay numbers: if you want to change those, the files are in \Data\GpxPatch\gfx\digital2010\flags. XX.png for driver21, YY.png for driver22.
  • Cockpit texture: goes to \Data\Cars\_shared, file name has to be cp_team11.tex
  • Teamart: goes to \Data\Teamart, in the respective subfolders.

I will send the 3 first tracks next week for this mod so it has a beginning of the season track pack.
Later i will send more track updates as i advance in the making of the track updates.
I think it would be a nice compliment. Looks very nice.

Install Zaz tools.
Open Csm. Use the File menu and choose Install carset. Select the downloaded file (be sure you decompress the file first) and hit enter. Once its finished select the mod on the left window, press start and the game starts.

Bug Report: the williams, sauber and toro rosso cars have white tyres in all views.

I selected in the CSM menu Melbourne track and the cars mentioned had white tyres in all views.
I tried other tracks inside the game and the same problem.
I did not test changing from CSM config menu selecting another track.

I did not test changing from CSM config menu selecting another track.
That is odd, most of the testing I did was with slot 1, never had white tyres. Can't replicate it right now either. Mind posting/sending the whole globalvars.ini, so that I can run with the exact same settings as you?

Is it both the tread and rim that's white, or only one of them? Can you check if the cars.wad in the wadcache has the ultrasoft, supersoft and soft tread textures and williams, sauber and str wheel textures in it?

Regarding the white tyres I'm almost certain that it's due to selecting another track ingame. I've set it up to only put the 3 compounds used in the race that's selected in the globalvars.ini to keep the cars.wad from bloating. However I didn't consider that by selecting another track ingame, another perf file will be used, which might refer to compounds different than those in the wad.

With the helmets I'm completely stuck, just can't find a reason why those shapes extend loading times and crash the game on exit.

Yes. I changed in the CSM menu and i selected Canada - Montreal track and it loaded the ultrasoft tyres, supersoft and soft tyres.
When i switched back in the csm menu to melbourne i got the same problem again with the white tyres of those 3 teams.
